2024 Activities

Celebration of Seasonal Gatherings: Spring (March 23), Summer (June 22), Autumn (September 21), and Winter (December 21)

The most significant events of each ending quarter are remembered, the changing of each season is explored, projects for the following quarters are planned, and experiences and projects are shared. These gatherings take place in a friendly atmosphere and always include a convivial meal for all attendees.

Seminar-Workshop on the History of Perfumery (April 13)

We know that crafts are linked to the production of objects. Thus, we find two types of crafts: those that respond to the needs of the moment, such as technique; and those that remain the same in different places and times, producing objects that, across different latitudes and historical periods, share the same core essence.

Day of Testimony Annual worldwide celebration of the anniversary of the speech “The Healing of Suffering” (May 6).

A public event with large crowds will be held in Study and Reflection Parks around the world, marking the day the message that is transforming the world and humanity was first delivered. In Spain, people from all over the country and abroad will converge on Toledo Park to commemorate this Day of Witness with a wide variety of activities. A fellowship gathering will follow.

European Congress for Active Nonviolence (June 1 and 2)

Today, a climate of violence prevails in the world, while people helplessly witness the annihilation of life and hope driven by a violent and dehumanizing logic.

Today more than ever, human consciousness must explore other paths to escape this labyrinth, seeking reconciliation and casting a humanizing gaze upon the monstrosity, as a way to overcome conflict. This doesn't arise spontaneously, just as the path to nonviolence doesn't arise spontaneously.

Day One: Presentations, Workshops, and Audiovisual Productions.

Day Two: Synthesis, conclusions, agreements, and activity planning. Joint presentation and closing of the event.

Summer University of Universalist Humanism, Toledo Park 2024 (September 13-15, 2024)

The purpose of these sessions is to promote spaces for communication, learning, study, reflection, and exchange on the need to overcome divisions of any kind, building paths of encounter and reconciliation to overcome personal and social violence.

International Day of Nonviolence (October 7)

Active nonviolence is the methodology of action of Universalist Humanism, which has been disseminated and developed by the Community for Human Development since its founding in 1980, with the aim of establishing a new Human Culture that rejects all forms of discrimination and violence. This also reinforces the UN's 2007 call to all States, Institutions, Organizations, Associations, and Individuals to celebrate this day as the "International Day of Non-Violence," October 2nd, in remembrance of Mahatma Gandhi's birth.

The event includes music, dance, various activities, and exhibitions.

Seminar-Workshop on Attention (October 26th)

This seminar-workshop aims to contribute to the understanding and practice of certain aspects of attention, recognizing that human existence often follows mechanical processes and is, in turn, absorbed by numerous stimuli, where the primary support rests on distracted perception, or in other words, erratic attention. Consequently, strengthening attention implies having self-awareness for longer periods, where logical reasoning gains strength, overcoming irrationality.
